Antique hammered copper and bronze oil kerosene lamp. The lamp is elegantly appointed with hammered copper urn, bronze talon feet, and lion guardians. The feet are solid bronze cast set on genuine onyx pediments. The lamp has been more recently electrified however is has not affected the integrity of the lamp as the electric cord and fitting has placed through the central burner. The lamp is quite large measuring 37" tall to the top of the cylinder and 34" to the top of the globe. The base is 11 1/2" at widest diameter. The burner cap bears the makers mark of Success. The globe is particularly interesting with hand applied sculpted detail which has been bronzed at the the front and reverse of the shade. I am still searching for a brass ring rim for the top of the shade. The lamp is in excellent condition with no damage to note. We date the lamp 1880.
