Henry Clay pair of massive Cherry Corner Cabinets. The pair are carved in the style of Rococo Revival Amercian Empire. The matched pair have a festooned basket of fruit and foliate crown with solid turned finials. The spooled columns decorate the face of the sides, original glass paned doors and bow-front lower cupboard, 9'11" high, 54" wide. The pair have unverified account of having come from the estate of Statesman Henry Clay (1777-1852). Henry Clay was a nineteenth century American statesman and orator who represented Kentucky in both the House of Representatives and Senate. He served as Secretary of State from 1825 to 1829. While not verifiable of the Clay Estate, at this point we do believe the cabinets to be of the correct time frame of 1800-40 and consistent with style. The condition is excellent with no loss or repairs to note.I will post more photos and info so check back.
