Antique Scottish shield brooch . The brooch is beautifully handcrafted in sterling silver . Sterling collets bezel set with alternating genuine garnets and topaz. The brooch is center set with a faceted topaz , crowned with a cabochon opal flanked by cabochon garnets . The brooch measures 2 1/2” long by 1 3/4” wide . The pin back is secure and sturdy . The shield is beautifully hand engraved . We date the brooch circa 1870 legal antique . All stones are original and no repairs to note .
