Ormolu Tortoise shell Candelabra pair. The five light candelabra measure 21 1/2" tall by 12" top diameter with a base diameter of 6". The red that you see is actual tortoise shell panels that have been applied to the wood frame in the center trunk of the candelabra as well as the base above the feet. The tortoise shell is about 95% with a few odd chips near the base edge. The bronze fittings are Ormolu gold over bronze. All the fittings are intact although a few more modern brass screws have been added. The candelabra pair is French and we date them to 1870-80 in age. Stock item PG719-037AB
