Antique 14K rose gold locket. The locket features a hand painted floral slate insert on the left interior panel. The opposite side has the liner ring for photo. The locket is large measuring 1 7/8" long not including bale by 1 1/4" wide with a projection of 3/8". The locket has three engraved hand cut projected initials of what we think is T B J on the cover. The locket is in good condition one slight dent front right at the 5 o'clock position. The locket closes and snaps tightly. The locket weighs 11.3 dwts = 17.6 grams 14K gold. Our in house jeweler has tested and marked 14K. The locket is solid 14K rose gold with a heavy yellow gold plating over th solid gold which creates a two cast tone. We date the locket circa 1870 legal antique.
