Antique Byzantine 14K gold locket. The locket is European dating circa 1900. It opens left to right unlike the American lockets. The clasp is secure and closes with a snap! The locket weighs a solid 13.4 grams = 8.6 dwts. We had our Master Goldsmith test for gold content and he stated it was above 14K ,15C European. The locket with out bale measures 1 1/2" long by 1 1/8" wide with a projection of 3/8". The bale( pendant loop) measures 3/4" long. The interior photo side has the original glass insert with bezel frame. The locket is decorated with gold bead granulation with a center spire featured on front of locket. There is one minor bead missing from the bale otherwise the locket is in excellent condition.
