Antique Russian Icon Vladmir Mother of God.The Icon is hand painted egg tempera on wood panel under oklad. The riza is silver plate with gold plated halo and enamel plaques.The Icon measures 11" wide x 12 1/2" tall. The back of the Icon is covered with a more modern cloth. We date the Icon to the early 1900's. The riza is hand repoussed and chased. The halo is gold plated over brass. The painting under the oklad may be schematic if any.
