Early Elegant English Tea Dessert Set

Regular price $485.00

Early Antique English tea coffee dessert set. The set is legal antique and dates to circa 1840. The colors are so unusual but most attractive with grey tones set on a peach border with high gold relief and decorations. The set is entirely hand painted. The gold is about 95% with little or no wear. There are no makers marks on the bases just a few small numbers. We are uncertain of the maker but believe the set to be of English origin. The matching set consists of a large tea/coffee pot, sugar and creamer and two dessert plates. With the exception of the tea/coffee pot the set is in excellent condition. The large pot however does have a few hair lines around the top ring with no loss and one small hairline near the bottom. The pot is most wonderful with great details on the handle note the mythical figural spout. All the pieces are in white without yellowing as so often is the case. The set is large measuring as follows. The teapot is 8 1/2" tall with a 6 1/2" diameter, spout to handle is 12". The covered sugar is 7" tall to finial, the creamer is 4 1/2" tall with 6" spout to handle. The two matching sweet plates are 10 1/4" in diameter. Truly a magnificent set, my photos just do not do it justice !
